The scale of damage to energy facilities in Ukraine’s western regions inflicted by Russia’s missile attack on Saturday morning is comparable to or may even exceed that of the October 10-12 attacks, Ukrenergo, the national power company, reported at noon. The power supply is limited in Kyiv and ten other regions of Ukraine, including the oblasts of Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhya and Kirovohrad.
Three hours later, the Office of the President of Ukraine reported about nearly 1.5 million consumers disconnected from the power grid in seven oblasts, including Khmelnytsky, Mykolaiv, Volyn, Cherkasy, Rivne, Kirovohrad and Odesa.
According to military analyst Oleksandr Kovalenko, Russia launched on Ukraine today 33 missiles – Х-101, Х-555 and Kalibr – of which 18 were shot down by the Ukrainian air defense.
