Season record: Mahuchikh wins Diamond League stage

Athlete Yaroslava Mahuchikh won the first Diamond League stage in Morocco. The Ukrainian got gold with a 1.95 m jump. After that, she cleared the bar at a height of 2.01 m, Suspilne Sport reported. This indicator became the best result of the season in the world. The previous record – 2.00 m – also belongs to Mahuchikh.

“I am very happy to jump 2.01 m, to set a competition record and the best season result in the world. This is obviously an incentive for me to continue and win new victories,” Yaroslava said.

Yaroslava Mahuchikh is the only athlete in the 2023 summer season who jumped 2.00 m and higher. Another representative of Ukraine, Iryna Gerashchenko, won silver at the competition with a jump of 1.91 m, Espreso reports. Maryna Beh-Romanchuk brought the second silver to the Ukrainian national team at the first Diamond League stage in the triple jump.
