Tigre municipality in Argentina recognizes Holodomor as genocide

The Municipality of Tigre, located in the Buenos Aires province with a population exceeding 370,000, has officially recognized the Holodomor as genocide. 

In doing so, Tigre designated the last Saturday of November as Holodomor Remembrance Day, reported María Zinko, Vice President of the Ukrainian Central Representation in Argentina.

The Tigre Buenos Aires Provincial city of Tigre recently hosted the ceremonial opening of an augmented reality graphic exhibition titled “HØLØDØMØР,” created by Ukrainian artist Yulia Fedorovych. 

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Juan José Servetto, vice president of the city council, Yurii Klymenko, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Argentina,  María Zinko, vice president of the Ukrainian Central Representation in Argentina, alongside council members, politicians, entrepreneurs, and local citizens.

The Ukrainian World Congress extends its gratitude to the Ukrainian community of Argentina for preserving historical memory and thanks the Tigre Municipality for this important decision in support of Ukraine.
