Ukrainian athletes won one after another at the international freestyle wrestling ranking tournament. The competition took place in Sassari, Italy. Andrii Yatsenko and Mykyta Morhun – athletes from Poltava Oblast – got two gold medals. The head of the Poltava Oblast Military Administration, Dmytro Lunin, announced this.
“Andrii Yatsenko took first place in the 57 kg category. Mykyta Morhun won in the 74 kg category,” Lunin wrote.
“Congratulations to the athletes and their coaches! Glory to Ukraine!” Head of the Oblast Military Administration congratulated the winners.
Apart from that, the Mchedlidze brothers from Dnipropetrovsk Oblast performed successfully at the international tournament. Murazi Mchedlidze won the competition, and his younger brother Davyd got a “silver” medal, announced Oleksandr Pshenychnykov, head of the youth and sports department of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast State Administration.
In total, the Ukrainian men’s national team won six gold, four silver and two bronze awards and led the team standings of the tournament.
