The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) joins the international community in strongly condemning the terrorist attack in Nice, France, on 14 July 2016, which resulted in numerous deaths and casualties of residents and tourists.
The attack, which coincided with Bastille Day celebrations, was a blatant affront to the values of freedom, equality and fraternity symbolized by this significant holiday.
On behalf of the 20-million strong Ukrainian diaspora, the UWC expresses sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims and prays for all those injured in this shocking act of terrorism.
“The Ukrainian World Congress expresses solidarity with the French people and calls upon the international community to remain united in the fight against all forms of terrorism that currently challenge global peace and stability,” – said the UWC President Eugene Czolij.
