On 25 April 2017 Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) President Eugene Czolij participated in a commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the UWC in Madrid, Spain, organized by the Association “Ukrainian Community in Spain for the rights, honor and dignity of Ukrainians.”
The UWC President delivered the keynote address during the commemoration with which he presented a snapshot of the many accomplishments throughout a 50-year history in furthering the interests of Ukrainians and Ukraine. Highlighting the key priorities of the UWC, Eugene Czolij called upon Ukrainians in Spain to continue supporting Ukraine in the defence of its territorial integrity.
The program included a screening of the short documentary film 50 years of the Ukrainian World Congress and two videos produced about the UWC by students of Lviv Polytechnic National University: Countering propaganda of the Russian Federation and Remembering victims of the Holodomor.
“The Ukrainian World Congress congratulates the Ukrainian community in Spain on promoting the work of the UWC with its 50th anniversary commemoration and calls for continued cooperation with the UWC in furthering common goals,” stated UWC President Eugene Czolij.
