The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) welcomes the proposal made by the European Commission on 20 April 2016 to lift visa requirements for the citizens of Ukraine by transferring Ukraine to the list of countries whose citizens can travel without a visa to the Schengen area.
The proposal was the result of Ukraine successfully meeting all criteria under the Visa Liberalisation Action Plan, including significant reforms in the areas of justice and the rule of law.
“The Ukrainian World Congress urges the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament to expeditiously adopt the proposal, thereby strengthening ties between the people of Ukraine and the European Union,” stated UWC President Eugene Czolij.
