UKRAINIAN WORLD CONGRESS EXPRESSES SYMPATHY FOR THE VICTIMS OF THE FLOODS IN AUSTRALIA
The Ukrainian World Congress expresses sincere sympathy for the victims of the destructive mass flooding which has engulfed Australia and continues to ravage its territory.
The area affected by the flooding is larger than the territories of France and Germany combined, while the number of victims is reaching 200,000. As a result of the floods in the state of Queensland over 90 people have either died or been reported missing, among them children, property of the state’s residents has been damaged or detroyed and vandalism has resulted in billion dollar losses.
“The Ukrainian World Congress expresses its deepest sympathy to those affected by the floods in Australia including Ukrainians and the Ukrainian community, and calls upon the entire Ukrainian community to pray for the victims of this terrible tragedy and for an end to the flooding,” stated Ukrainian World Congress president Eugene Czolij.
