ARCHBISHOP EMERITUS MICHAEL BZDEL, CSSR
(1930-2012)
The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) expresses deep sorrow with the passing on April 3, 2012, of His Grace, Most Reverend Michael Bzdel, Archbishop Emeritus of Winnipeg.
The passing of Archbishop Michael Bzdel is a great loss for the entire Ukrainian community in Canada and beyond. UWC remembers the late Metropolitan as a member of the Board of Directors during the years 1998-2008 representing the interests of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Canada.
UWC pays tribute to the late Archbishop Michael Bzdel as a high-ranking servant of the church who, with his dedication, contributed to the development of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Canada, and to preserving and further developing the spiritual treasures of our nation, while tirelessly sowing the seeds of goodness, piety and mercy.
