The situation around the largest nuclear power plant in Europe continues to be tense due to constant shelling by the Russian army. In particular, today’s shelling provoked a fire and disconnection from the network of its last power unit. Peaceful citizens from the surrounding settlements want to evacuate as soon as possible, Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk said, answering questions from journalists during a broadcast on the French TV channel LCI.
“People are turning to us en masse for help – they are trying to leave the dangerous territory. We once again appeal to the Russian Federation with the demand to provide us with a humanitarian corridor for the evacuation of women, children, and the elderly!” – Vereshchuk urged.
