Drone attacks on Moscow are legal – Baerbock

Drones attacked Moscow again on the night of August 23. The drone targeted the tower being built in the Moscow City business district, the mayor of the Russian capital Sergey Sobyanin said. On August 18, UAVs also woke up Moscow residents. Then the air defense system was activated, eyewitnesses said.

Drone attacks on Moscow began in May. Since then, residents of the Russian capital have witnessed about 15 drone attacks. During the last week, explosions were heard almost every day.

Annalena Baerbock, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany, said Russia is responsible for numerous drone attacks in Moscow. The diplomat added that Kyiv defends itself “within the framework of international law,” making such attacks legal.

Earlier, the US State Department said that they do not encourage strikes outside of Ukraine and do not help carry them out but leave Ukraine the prerogative to decide “how exactly to conduct this war independently.”
