Over 50 dead in 2 days: Russians wipe out Ukrainian cities

Lviv

In the early hours of September 4, Russians attacked Lviv with drones and Kinzhal hypersonic missiles. The occupiers hit residential buildings in the city center, killing 7 people. Another fifty civilians were injured, as reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

“Emergency responders saved 12 people. Psychologists from the Lviv Region’s State Emergency Service and the Lviv State University of Life Safety provided assistance to 103 affected individuals, including 16 children. More than 150 rescuers and 38 units of special equipment were involved in mitigating the consequences of the events,” said the rescuers.

Among the dead were two children, aged 7 and 14. Russia nearly wiped out an entire family – only the father survived, wrote Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi.

More than 50 buildings were damaged, and over 7 architectural landmarks came under missile fire. “All the buildings are located in the historic area and the UNESCO buffer zone. They are listed in the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine,” said Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.

Poltava

On the morning of September 3, Russian forces struck an educational institution in Poltava. As of September 4, 53 people are reported dead, but the debris clearance is still ongoing. “Early reports indicate that up to 5 more people may still be under the rubble. The number of injured has risen to 298,” reported the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Poltava Region, as cited by Suspilne.

The explosions occurred just minutes after the air raid siren was sounded, with people heading to shelters, according to the Hraty news outlet, citing a source.

“From the moment the air raid alert was announced to the moment of impact, it was three to four minutes at most,” an eyewitness and a Ukrainian fighter told journalists.

The first strike hit the building, and the second followed within 15 seconds. “The ceiling collapsed, plaster fell, and slabs landed everywhere. We suffocated for a while, even trying to cover ourselves with shirts. It was easy to suffocate in there. Outside, there was a ‘fog of concrete dust,’ and bloodied, mutilated people were lying around – many were severely injured. We provided first aid to those we could,” the man recounted.

Sumy

On the evening of September 3, Russian occupiers carried out an airstrike on a university building in Sumy, local authorities reported. “Preliminarily, the enemy used a guided bomb,” stated the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

On the evening of September 1, the invaders targeted an educational institution in Sumy, where a center for social and psychological rehabilitation of children and an orphanage are located. The building is situated in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Eighteen people were injured, including six children, among them a 7-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl.

Kryvyi Rih

On the morning of September 4, the Russians launched a missile attack on Kryvyi Rih. Five people were injured, including a 10-year-old girl. The attack damaged a hotel, residential buildings, educational institutions, and other infrastructure facilities.

Kharkiv, Kherson, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kyiv regions are also under constant fire.
