U.S. Department of Defense announced the purchase of National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems

The Pentagon announced that Raytheon Missiles & Defense will supply Ukraine with two NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems, training and logistical support for the Ukrainian military and security forces.

The NASAMS medium-range air defense system is considered one of the best air defense systems and protects the sky above the White House. Usually, the NASAMS battery includes three fire platoons (54 missiles), united in an information network.

The procurement is part of the third Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative package, announced on July 1, which committed $820 million in security assistance to Ukraine.
