The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) joins Ukrainians worldwide in mourning the victims of Russia’s latest horrific missile attack on Kyiv, which struck residential buildings, a school, and a children’s hospital, killing innocent civilians.
This was not an accident. It was another deliberate act of terror against Ukraine’s civilian population.
The attack underscores an urgent reality: Ukraine needs more air defence systems and interceptors now.
UWC fully supports Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, and the Government of Ukraine’s call for Ukraine’s allies to immediately accelerate the delivery of air defence capabilities and anti-ballistic systems. Countries that possess these capabilities have the power to save lives today.
Every interceptor delivered to Ukraine can stop a missile from reaching a home, a hospital, or a school. Every delay gives Russia another opportunity to kill civilians.
Russia continues to wage a brutal war of terror while seeking to convince the world that its crimes can continue without consequence. Ukraine’s partners must prove otherwise by strengthening air defence support and increasing sanctions to degrade Russia’s ability to produce the missiles used to attack civilians.
“The world has the means to help protect Ukrainian lives,” said UWC President Paul Grod. “The scenes from Kyiv are a reminder that delays have consequences measured in human lives. Ukraine’s allies must act immediately to provide additional air defence systems and interceptors and strengthen pressure on Russia’s war machine.”
The Ukrainian World Congress calls on governments across the democratic world to act with urgency. The need is immediate. The lives at stake are real.
The Ukrainian World Congress also calls on Ukrainians worldwide, freedom-loving people everywhere, and all democratic nations to raise their voices and take action. The repeated targeting of civilians in Kyiv, one of Europe’s great capitals, is an assault on the values of the free world itself.
The world cannot accept the normalization of terror against civilians. Every government, institution, and citizen who believes in freedom and human dignity has a responsibility to act. Demand stronger support for Ukraine. Demand stronger sanctions against Russia. Demand accountability for these crimes.
If the world has the means to stop these attacks, it also has the responsibility to act. Kyiv must not stand alone.
Help Ukraine defend its people. Help Ukraine now.
