Ukrainian World Congress saddened by loss of Ukrainian church in Canada destroyed by fire
The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) is saddened by the loss on 5 April 2014 of St. Elias the Prophet Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church in Brampton, Canada, which was destroyed by fire.
Built in 1995 entirely of wood in a style traditional of the Boykivshchyna region of Ukraine, St. Elias the Prophet Church was a Ukrainian architectural treasure and it served as a place of worship for many in the community.
The UWC expresses, on behalf of Ukrainians throughout the world, spiritual solidarity with the parishioners as they begin the difficult task of rebuilding their church for the praise of God.
