UWC and Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation tour culminates in Chicago community fundraising event

On February 18th, the final “Invincible When United” fundraising tour event, organized jointly by the Unite With Ukraine initiative of the Ukrainian World Congress and the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation, was held at the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Chicago. Over 350 guests attended the event.

“We have shown great unity in our collaboration towards a common goal – achieving victory for Ukraine. As a team, we will acquire armored vehicles for demining operations. Supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been the primary objective of the UWC since the commencement of Russia’s full-scale invasion.”

“We are all part of Ukraine’s struggle and victory. We must think daily about what we can do to help Ukraine succeed. We cannot afford to stop working towards our goal; time is of the essence. We need to continue working towards our shared vision and encourage Ukrainians and our friends to support Ukraine,” said Paul Grod, President of UWC.

The UWC would like to thank several organizations and individuals for their contributions and support. These include the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, Illinois Division and its president Mariya Dmytriv-Kapeniak, the Ukrainian Cultural Center and its director Yarka Abramiuk, the Moloko company and Roman Panychevnyy, as well as the Zvuk company and Sashko Khryplyvyi.

The event in Chicago was the sixth in a series of meetings with Ukrainian communities, following Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, New York, and Philadelphia. These sessions featured discussions with the participation of UWC President Paul Grod and Serhiy Prytula.

After watching a short video presentation, participants engaged in a Q&A session discussing the volunteer movement, support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the current situation on the front lines.

Each event raised funds to acquire armored vehicles for safe humanitarian mine clearance in southern Ukraine. The final amount of donations is still being calculated, but it is understood that the sum collected has already exceeded the tour’s set target.

The UWC would like to express sincere gratitude to its sponsors, including the Title Sponsor Meest and Meest America Inc. and our local sponsors, the Heritage Foundation – First Security Federal Savings Bank, Self Reliance Federal Credit Union, and U.S. Medical Glove Company.
