The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) draws the attention of the international community to the increasing number of deaths among children as a result of the barbaric terrorist acts in Eastern Ukraine that, in violation of the Minsk agreements, continue to be committed by Russia-backed terrorists and Russian special forces.

During the last two days alone, on 12 and 13 February 2015, five children have died in terrorist attacks: a seven-year-old girl in Artemivsk during the shelling of school No. 4; two girls, seven and eleven years old, and a one-year-old boy in Horlivka when artillery hit a residential home; and a child in Schastia during the shelling of a cafe. One child from Hirnyk remains in critical condition.

The UWC expresses sincere condolences to the families of the victims and those injured in terrorist acts and strongly condemns these crimes against humanity on Ukrainian territory.

“The Ukrainian World Congress calls upon the international community to unite its efforts toward an immediate end to the criminal terrorist activity in Eastern Ukraine by the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics and the Russian Federation that finances, arms and reinforces them with its special forces,” stated UWC President Eugene Czolij.
