UWC President Paul Grod will speak at the US-UA Working Group Yearly Summit  IX

On June 17, UWC President Paul Grod will speak at the US-UA Working Group Yearly Summit  IX: Providing Ukraine with an Annual Report Card, which is scheduled to be webcast on June 16-17, 2021.

Speakers will include prominent experts and thought leaders from Ukraine, US, Canada and the EU. The list includes:

  • Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, Chair of the Committee on Euro-Intergration of the Verkhona Rada of Ukraine
  • Oksana Markarova, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States
  • Dmytro Razumkov, Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine
  • Andriy Futey, President of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America and UWC Vice President
  • Tamara Gallo-Olexy, UCCA National Office Executive Director and UWC Vice President
  • John Herbst, Former Ambassador of the United States to Ukraine and Director for Eurasia at the Atlantic Council of the United States
  • Representative Marcy Kaptur, Representative of Ohio’s Ninth Congressional District
  • Senator Robert Portman, Senator of the State of Ohio and Co-Chair of the Senate Ukraine Caucus
  • Michael Sawkiw, Director of the Ukrainian National Information Service
  • Roman Waschuk, Former Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine, 2014-2019 and Chair of the UWC Foreign Policy Council

The forum, held in two four hour segments spanning consecutive days, will bring together government and key non-government representatives from Ukraine, Canada, the EU, and the US to take measure of Ukraine’s 2020-2021 progress/regress in six categories: “robust democratic politics, mature market economics, ever greater energy security, ever greater general security, viable social cohesion, and an established national identity.”

To facilitate said examination, the event will run four plenary sessions, four highlight focus sessions, two special sessions, and a tally-master report. In total, nearly three dozen featured speakers are expected to address the conference proceedings.
