UWC SIGNS MEMORANDUM TO LAUNCH AN INFORMATIONAL WEEKLY TELEVISION NEWS JOURNAL IN UKRAINE
On December 17, 2011, in Toronto, Canada, the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) signed a Memorandum with 5 Kanal (Channel 5) in Ukraine and IMB+ Records in Canada to launch a new weekly television news journal, Ukrayins’ka Hromada (Ukrainian community). The program, to be aired on 5 Kanal, will showcase the activities of Ukrainian communities beyond the borders of Ukraine, as well as world events directly affecting Ukrainians.
In the early stages of the project, 5 Kanal will broadcast video footage under the heading Ukrayins’ka Hromada during its daily news programming courtesy of the UWC and its member organizations. Ultimately, the intent is to produce a separate program under the same name.
The Memorandum was signed by UWC President Eugene Czolij, 5 Kanal Editor-in-Chief Volodymyr Mzhelskyi and IMB+ Records President Bohdan Mouzitchka in the presence of representatives of all three organizations.
“This Memorandum is an important step in informing Ukrainians living in Ukraine and beyond its borders about the social, national-cultural, educational and informational activities of the over 20-million strong Ukrainian diaspora and the Ukrainian World Congress,” stated UWC President Eugene Czolij.
