Today, at 4:56 p.m. Kyiv time, the launch of a nanosatellite developed by Ukrainian scientists for the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence will take place at Cape Canaveral, Florida, the Education and Science Ministry of Ukraine reports.
The PolyITAN-HP-30 satellite will be launched into Earth orbit using the SpaceX Falcon-9 launch vehicle. The launch can be watched live on the official YouTube channel of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute here.
The nanosatellite was developed by scientists of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute exclusively with funds provided by the ministry.
The delivery of the PolyITAN-HP-30 to the United States for the launch was made possible thanks to the sponsorship of Boeing Ukraine and the support of the Delft University of Technology from the Netherlands, whose spin-off company undertook the financing and technical support of the launch of the satellite. The State Space Agency of Ukraine contributed to solving logistics and export issues.
After the launch into the planned orbit, the nanosatellite will ensure the implementation of a scientific experiment to study the effectiveness of the functioning of heat pipes of various designs as the main element of the thermal stabilization systems of space vehicles.
