Leadership transition at the Ukrainian World Congress mission in Ukraine

The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) announces that Mr. Andriy Shevchenko is stepping down from his role as Head of Mission in Ukraine.

On behalf of the Ukrainian World Congress, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Andriy for his dedicated service, steadfast commitment, and significant contributions to advancing UWC’s mission in Ukraine.

Throughout his tenure, Andriy became an integral part of the UWC team and played an important role in strengthening the organization’s presence and impact in Ukraine. Through his professionalism, strategic insight, and collaborative approach, he helped foster strong relationships with government institutions, civil society organizations, and key partners, while advancing UWC’s advocacy on issues important to Ukrainians both at home and throughout the global Ukrainian community.

Andriy’s contribution extended well beyond external engagement. During a particularly challenging period for Ukraine, he provided steady leadership and support to the Mission’s team, helping ensure the continuity and effectiveness of its work. He played a key role in strengthening collaboration across teams, supporting important programs and initiatives, and maintaining strong connections between colleagues and partners in Ukraine and abroad.

He also contributed meaningfully to several strategic priorities of the Ukrainian World Congress, including advocacy efforts related to multiple citizenship, the development of the Diaspora Alliance, and other initiatives aimed at deepening connections between Ukraine and Ukrainians around the world. His thoughtful perspective and deep understanding of both Ukraine and the global Ukrainian community helped advance these important efforts.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Andriy earned the respect and appreciation of colleagues and partners through his integrity, generosity, and genuine commitment to others. His calm leadership, sound judgment, and ability to bring people together have left a lasting positive impact on our organization.
