Leaders of Ukrainian organizations in the United Kingdom met with Ukraine’s newly appointed ambassador, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB) reported.
“Today, together with our fellow Ukrainian organisations and churches, we were able to meet with the new Ambassador General Valerii Zaluzhnyi. The meeting lasting two and half hours was productive and informative,” reported AUGB at the end of last week.
The Support Ukraine NGO also participated in the meeting. “We had a productive conversation with His Excellency regarding future cooperation and working to fight this terrible, unprovoked russian war against our country in any possible way. … Together we will win!” the organization stated, expressing gratitude to Zaluzhnyi for the meeting and support.
The Ukrainian Youth Association in Great Britain was represented by Alex Kosmirak, deputy chair of Krayova Uprava.
“It was a real privilege and amazing honour to represent CYM GB and meet such an inspiring leader. I hope we can build and develop these initial introductions to constructively work with our new Ambassador, on CYM aims and the shared goal of Ukraine’s ultimate victory,” said Kosmirak.
Kosmirak informed Zaluzhnyi about the CYM’s activities in Great Britain, including the #CYM100DeedsTowardVictory initiative commemorating the organization’s centenary in 2025. The project aims to unite the global CYM community to further support Ukraine.
“I met with leaders of Ukrainian public and charitable organizations in the UK. I thanked them for their significant contribution to advocating for our country’s interests at all possible levels,” Zaluzhnyi wrote.
He emphasized that the Ukrainian community in the UK has played an important role and remains a powerful voice for Ukraine in the United Kingdom since the early days of Russian aggression in 2014.
“We must continue to be a united shield for the protection of our homeland, counter attempts by the terrorist state to destroy Ukrainian identity and erase Ukraine from the world map. We agreed to continue existing and start new joint initiatives and consolidate all our efforts to strengthen our resistance against the Russian aggressor, support the unity of the Ukrainian community, and preserve its national identity,” Zaluzhnyi concluded.
