UWC President begins meetings on Ukraine with high ranking European officials

On 20 February 2014, Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) President Eugene Czolij begins a six-day working visit to France and Austria today to meet with high-ranking European officials in Strasbourg and Vienna.

As the situation in Ukraine continues to deteriorate. the UWC President will be meeting with leaders of the European Parliament, Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe to discuss concrete measures to resolve the current crisis in Ukraine without any further violence or loss of life.

Other topics to be discussed include the imposition of sanctions against Ukrainian governing authorities responsible for blatant human rights violations including inciting violence and deploying riot police against peaceful protesters; the next steps toward signing the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.
