UWC condemns defacement of #StandWithUkraine banner in Toronto

Last night unidentified individuals defaced a #StandWithUkraine banner at Ukrainian-owned Future Bakery in Toronto, installed by Borys Wrzesnewskyj, prominent Ukrainian Canadian community leader, former member of Canada’s Parliament, and Head of the UWC Human Rights Commission.

The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) condemns this hate crime. This crime once again demonstrates how pro-Russian networks operate and spread hatred worldwide. Russia wages war against Ukrainians no matter where they live, targeting our global communities.

UWC supports the call of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress for law enforcement to fully and thoroughly investigate this act of hate. We will not be intimidated by cowards. We must remain united and vigilant to #StandWithUkraine and counter Russian aggression.
