We sincerely congratulate prominent figures of the diaspora, as well as friends of Ukraine, on receiving state awards of Ukraine on the occasion of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to the United States of America. These awards are a worthy recognition of many years of dedicated service for the benefit of the Ukrainian people.
Andrew Futey, the President of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA), and the Vice President of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC), was awarded the Order of Merit II degree. Michael Sawkiw, Jr., Executive Vice President of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA) and Director of its Washington, DC bureau – the Ukrainian National Information Service (UNIS), also received the Order of Merit II degree. Alla Lopatkina, president of the Ukrainian Resistance Foundation, was awarded the award of the President of Ukraine – the Cross of Ivan Mazepa.
The Ukrainian World Congress congratulates Bishop Borys Gudziak, Ph. D. President of the UCU. Archeparch of Philadelphia for Ukrainians and Metropolitan for the Ukrainian Catholic Church in the USA, on receiving the award of the President of Ukraine. And also – Vasyl Hrechynsky, Artistic Director and Conductor of the Dumka Ukrainian choir titled “Honored Worker of Arts of Ukraine.”
The awards received are a natural manifestation of appreciation for the great and devoted work that the leaders of the Ukrainian world communities do for the benefit of our spiritual Motherland of Ukraine and the entire Ukrainian people in the world.
