
Ukraine has achieved a new victory on the cultural front – two Ukrainian films received awards at the Berlinale, one of the world’s most prestigious and influential film festivals.
“Waking in Silence,” a Ukrainian-German documentary by Mila Zhluktenko and Daniel Asadi Faezi, received a special award for the best short film in the Generation Kplus program. The documentary recounts the war’s horrors through the eyes of Ukrainian women and children who were forced to find shelter in Germany.
The short film “This Date,” directed by Nadiya Parfan, received a special award from the international jury. The film is a moving story of life in Kyiv during the war.
