144 defenders of Ukraine are released from captivity in what has been the biggest POW exchange so far since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war, the MOD Defense Intelligence reported.
The freed soldiers include 95 defenders of Azovstal, of which 43 are Azov Regiment servicemen.
Specifically, the Ukrainian prisoners freed include:
- 59 from National Guard

Of them, 23 were officers, 69 servicemen of sergeant and senior ranks. The oldest was 65 years old, the youngest 19.
“Most of the released Ukrainians have serious injuries: gunshot and shrapnel wounds, explosive injuries, burns, fractures, amputations of limbs. All of them receive appropriate emergency medical and psychological assistance,” said the Defense Intelligence.
