UWC calls upon all government officials to follow the principled position of Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs

The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) commends the principled position of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada Chrystia Freeland who, according to a report in The Globe and Mail from 11 January 2017, has firmly rejected an offer from the Russian Federation to lift a travel ban against her in return for Canada removing economic sanctions and visa bans imposed over Moscow’s illegal annexation of Ukraine’s Crimean Peninsula.

“The Ukrainian World Congress calls upon all government officials worldwide to never compromise on such fundamentals as the territorial integrity of independent states for any personal, political or economic gains offered in exchange by the Russian Federation,” stated UWC President Eugene Czolij.
